You can use SmartHold anonymously, with your progress stored only on your device. If you create an account, we sync your progress and purchases so they follow you across devices. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t handle your card details — payments go through Apple or Google. The website uses privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics to help us understand usage; the iOS and Android apps do not send analytics to that service.

Information stored on your device. When you play without an account, your settings, stats, streaks, review queue, selected game, and any custom pay tables are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us as gameplay data. Website visits may still generate the analytics information described below.

Account information. If you sign in, we collect your email address and an authentication identifier from your chosen sign-in method (email, Apple, or Google). If you use “Sign in with Apple,” Apple may relay a private, app-specific email address rather than your real one.

Profile and gameplay data. For signed-in users we store a generated leaderboard display name and your gameplay progress — such as hands played, accuracy, streaks, your review queue, preferences, and custom pay tables — so it can sync across your devices and appear on the leaderboards.

Purchase information. When you buy a subscription or unlock a feature, our purchase provider records your entitlement and subscription status (for example, which product you own and whether it is active). Your actual payment is processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Website analytics. When you use smartholdvp.com, our self-hosted Umami analytics service records information such as the page URL and title, referring page, browser, operating system, device and screen size, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Events are labeled “admin” or “public” so we can exclude our own administrative traffic. We do not send your email address, generated name, or gameplay records to Umami. Umami does not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. This analytics service is not included in the iOS or Android apps.

Technical information. Like most online services, our providers may process basic technical data needed to operate and secure the Service, such as your IP address, device or browser type, and diagnostic logs. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site ad-tracking.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service, and only as needed, including:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of SmartHold or others. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We keep account and synced data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Website analytics records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to understand usage, maintain security, and improve the Service. Data stored only on your device is removed when you clear it or uninstall the app.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls at our providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is operated from, and your information is processed and stored in, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. California residents may exercise the rights described in “Your Choices and Rights” above.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated in the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
